The Oregon coast has a way of feeling like a storybook—fog-draped cliffs, the hum of waves, and wind that whispers through the dunes like it’s carrying secrets. I traveled there for a photography workshop, hoping to push myself creatively, soak in new inspiration, and step outside my comfort zone. And somewhere near Neskowin, on a windswept patch of coastline, I met Megan and Chris.

And wow—what a pair.

You could feel their love before they even touched. It wasn’t loud or showy, but deeply felt—woven into every glance, every smile, every shared laugh. The kind of love that’s rooted, honest, and really real. As we ran barefoot through the grass with the wind tangling our hair, it felt like something out of a movie.

We even brought kites (because how could you not on a beach like this?) but ironically—it was too windy to fly them. Still, the joy and connection between Megan and Chris was more than enough to carry the session. Nothing about the weather could spoil the mood. We were completely in the moment, chasing light and letting go.

And that light—oh my god. After days of nonstop rain, the skies finally parted for just one hour. The sun made a rare, golden appearance, like it was giving us a quiet blessing. For that hour, everything aligned—the landscape, the light, and the love.

Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do.

As photographers, it’s easy to stay in our comfort zones—to keep doing what’s familiar. But choosing to travel, to learn from others, to be vulnerable enough to grow? That’s where the magic happens. This trip, despite the stormy skies, filled my creative cup in ways I didn’t know I needed.

Megan and Chris, thank you for being part of that. For letting me into your little world, for embracing the wildness of the coast, and for reminding me that true love—simple, beautiful, soul-deep love—is always worth capturing.

Photographers: never stop learning. Step into the rain, chase the sun, and let yourself be moved.

And to the couples out there—book the shoot. Celebrate your love. Even if it’s just for an hour on a windy beach somewhere… it’ll be a moment you’ll never forget.
